Cultivate Silky Locks that will Captivate and Draw Attention

Now I have long hair (this picture of mine was taken a few years ago) and I’ve always worked to keep it silky and soft with many of the natural remedies available to keep my hair looking soft and silky (like in the picture) without any of the harsher chemicals found in those shampoo bottles I used before. Let me share some of the easiest and most natural ways to take care of your flowing tresses and keep them looking shiny and healthy.

Natural Oils for Healthy Scalp and Hair Care
Putting time aside for scalp and hair treatments is a luxurious and necessary routine if you want to acquire and maintain very silky hair that’s soft to the touch. You already know that a healthy diet aids in growing soft, strong locks. You may even have the products right in your pantry. Gently warm about a half cup of coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil and using your fingers, massage thoroughly throughout your scalp and all of your hair. Take a clean, hot towel and wrap your hair completely in the towel. Allow thirty minutes for your scalp and hair to benefit from this natural treatment and then finish with a warm rinse and a mild natural shampoo.

All Natural Aloe Vera
If you already incorporated Aloe Vera into your natural lifestyle, you’ve seen the benefits for your skin and its healing properties, but did you know it can also enhance the beauty of your long hair? This easy to grow and cultivate plant provides you with everything you need. Take about three leaves and open them to retrieve the rich pulp inside and mix thoroughly. Using your hands, rub the thick aloe into your hair and be sure to cover from root to tip. Put on a shower cap and keep your hair under a warm hair dryer for about five minutes. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo. You’ll be amazed at the conditioning results.

Make Bananas and Avocados a Part of your Hair and Scalp Routine
Your diet is already rich in healthy foods and raw nourishment for your body, but did you know that bananas and avocados can also play a vital role in your hair and scalp conditioning? Combine half an avocado, a banana, and some high quality extra virgin olive oil and mix into a smooth paste. Allow the mixture to remain on your hair for half an hour and then rinse and shampoo. Your hair will be transformed into soft and luxurious locks.

Don’t Overlook Apple Cider Vinegar
A lot of people are put off by the smell of apple cider vinegar and think if they use it in their hair care routine that their hair will retain the smell. This simply isn’t true. If you mix four parts water to one part apple cider vinegar and use it in place of a regular conditioner, you will be amazed at how shiny and healthy your hair will look after. Any lingering smell will be completely gone once your hair is dry.

Another Variation using Oil and Avocado
Mix some warm olive and coconut oils, a few drops of lemon juice and all of the pulp from an avocado. Apply the blend to damp hair and let it sit for twenty minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly and with plenty of warm water, then wash you hair as you normally would.

There are many benefits to keeping your home stocked with fresh and natural foods to nourish your body. Now you know that these same foods that enrich your diet can also be an integral part of your hair routine and bring health, shine and beauty to your long tresses.
