Whether your goal is to stop your hair from falling out or taking steps to prevent it, this can happen to anyone. In fact, many women and men experience this issue during their lifetime. While some issues with hair fall can be from chemicals, sometimes you will need to consult with a professional or your doctor to make sure there isn’t a medical reason you are losing hair. For those issues not related to a medical issue, there are steps you can take that may benefit your hair and scalp.
Many of us use chemicals to process our hair and change its shape and color. The ingredients in perms, hair dye and other bleaching processes can eventually leave our hair damaged, weakened and even brittle, causing breakage and loss. If at all possible, take a longer break between processing your hair.
If you can, reduce the times that you use heat for drying and working on your hair. Using dryers and straighteners can severely dry out the hair, also making it weak and brittle. Whenever you can, allow your hair to dry naturally and give it a break from the high heat. Save the straightener for special occasions or use it less often.
Are you doing all you can to nourish your body? Your hair will thank you too. Any type of deficiencies with important vitamins such as A, B, C and even E can cause your hair to weaken. Make sure that you are taking vitamins from your diet, add nutritious foods that contain these vital nutrients. Your hair and scalp will reward you with stronger, healthier hair.
Many people do not add enough protein to their diet. If you are not eating enough protein, this too will have a negative effect on your hair. Hair itself is made of protein. Incorporate enough of this vital food source into your daily eating routine and you’ll notice the difference.
If your hair has become dry and brittle, adding in a scalp massage will help increase blood flow to the scalp and encourage healthier growth and stronger hair. You can use a small amount of enriching oil especially formulated for the scalp and massage for 30 minutes a day. This will moisturize as well as help your scalp and hair.
You’ve been using the same products for a long time if you’ve found ones you love. However, many of them can contain harsh chemicals that can dry out and damage your hair, causing hair fall. There are many new products on the market that are especially formulated to nourish and enrich your hair without any of the damaging chemicals you’ve been using. Many contain no chemicals at all that can cause damage. Look for herbal and organic products and read the labels to ensure they are chemical-free.
For versatile products that you can drink as well as use directly on your hair, try using green tea and apple cider vinegar. If you apply these products all over your scalp a few times a week, your scalp will benefit from the beneficial antioxidants and will strengthen your hair. Leave them on for an hour before rinsing out.
We all deal with busy lives, but stress can not only wreak havoc on our daily life but can also weaken your hair. You don’t have to look any farther than activities or hobbies to help you break free from stress. If there is a hobby you enjoy, take one up and watch the stress in your life go away. Look into yoga or other meditation techniques to help you find tranquility. Ease into these new activities to find one that helps you reduce your overall stress. Your hair will reward you with better health and strength.
