Slice up a nutritious dessert that will satisfy your sweet tooth as well and nourish your hair at the same time.
This recipe contains several ingredients that are of great benefit to your hair and scalp. Cashews contain selenium and omega-3 fatty acids that enrich the health of your scalp. Honey strengthens your hair follicles, encouraging strong, healthy growth. Coconut oil will impart a noticeable and healthy shine to your hair. Raisins are a delicious source of iron that encourages blood circulation in the scalp. Not only is cacao rich in minerals, but it has anti-inflammatory properties that prevent scalp irritation and infections.
To create the roulade sheet, you will need 250 grams (or 8.8 ounces) of raw cashew flour, 2 tablespoons of raw honey and 2 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil. In a mixing bowl, add in the flour ground from the raw cashews and add in the honey and coconut oil and knead well until a simple and delicious dough is formed. Using a sheet of cellophane, stretch the dough to create a rectangle that measures 20 x 20 inches. A great tip to help you stretch the dough is to place it between two sheets of cellophane and roll it into shape.
Next, you will make the cacao filling. Create a flour out of 100 grams (or 3.5 ounces) of poppy seeds. Also, you will need 2 tablespoons of raw honey, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil, 2 tablespoons of raw cacao, raisins soaked in water for a few hours, grated orange peel and a small amount of orange juice.
Take the poppy seed flour and combine it with the honey, coconut oil, raw cacao, raisins, grated orange peel and the orange juice to create a fluid cream that will be easy to spread over the sheet of dough. Spread the filling evenly over the dough sheet, roll the roulade sheet with the filling inside and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Place the sheet into the fridge for a few hours to help it set.
Even the pickiest gourmand will delight in the combination of poppy seeds, honey, cacao, orange and cashews.
